Let’s get a little bit Kloser, don’t be shy. The German born, African raised Jann Klose is here in the home studio and he looks and sounds like a dream.
Jann just dropped by the home studio to visit with us while he was in town to play at a tribute to musician Jeff Buckley who tragically died in a drowning accident in 1997.
We love to play Jann Klose’s song “The Strangest Thing” on our show because of the odd/far out news angles we like to feature on the show. It really feels like the song was written just for us.
Jann was born in Germany but grew up in Nairobi, Kenya and South Africa. He also lived in Cleveland as an exchange student while a teenager. It was while living in CLevelad that he grew to really appreciate music and laid the ground work for the musician he is today. He later performed in musical theater in such shows as Jekyll & Mr. Hyde and Jesus Christ Superstar.
Listen as Jann and his friend Lars Potteiger play some of their great hit songs in the home studio including “The Strangest Thing” and “Doing Time” from his new album “Reverie.”
Join us as we tlak with Jann as about whether cheetahs attack people just like lions, the influence of Jeff Buckley’s music and where’s the best place to meet musicians for collaboration.
FUN is our show’s middle name. Feast of Fools: Gay Fun Show.

How do you stop the hate in 2008? The recent passing of Proposition 8, a California State ballot aimed to take away the State’s ability to issue same-sex marriage licenses is raising questions on the role of race and sexuality in this last election. It’s also making people highly aware of the differences. Not everyone who voted for Obama was for marriage equality. How could that possibly be?
Although the African American religious vote made a small but significant difference in passing this ordinance, many people are pitting gay rights advocates against the black church.
Did queer folks fail to reach out to black churches or did these Churches fail to see the universal struggle for equality in their own back yard?
Why wasn’t Barack Obama’s rejection of the measure a bigger part of the campaign against the proposition?
On today’s show we have Chicago’s very own, the Rev. Charles Straight- Pastor of Faith United Methodist Church, in Dalton Illinois.
He’s here to help us make sense of what happened and what we can learn from this setback in order to fight against injustice wherever it rears it’s ugly head, even when it means taking a good hard look at ourselves.
In case you didn’t catch it, Wanda Sykes has come out, saying that she was born a beautiful black lesbian. Does being biologically gay mean people will be less likely to discriminate against you?
And the truth about beer goggles. British researchers conducted a study on the effects of alcohol on our attraction to others. They found out that tipsy men and women tend to rate their own genders as more attractive even after, as little as, one drink.

I simply love the Chicago Halloween parade. It’s a great place to meet everyday people expressing their desires of who they would like to be by dressing up in crazy costumes.
From the looks of the crowd people want to be a lot of things on Halloween, but most of all, they want to be fun!
We found that just about anything, from lip syncing, to dancing, to interacting with people is a heck of a lot more fun when you dress up in panda suit! You should definitely try it sometime.
Marc wanted to teach the “trick or treat” aspect of Halloween to the Asian folks at the parade, so he translated the phrase “You bring shame to your ancestors” into both Chinese and Korean and printed it onto white slips of paper much like fortune cookies. He gave the slips of paper to the Asians and then demanded candy, money or a kiss to take the message back.
Did they get it the prank? Some did, some didn’t, but do check out some of their funny reactions.

Eric Lutz is SO gay! Well, that’s the name of the new drinking game so get a glass and a bottle and play along.
Why is it so much fun to tease straight men? One pastime we gay men seem to enjoy is obsessing over the intangible nature of mixed orientation relationships.

Why is it so much fun to tease straight men? One pastime we gay men seem to enjoy is obsessing over the intangible nature of mixed orientation relationships.
On today’s show we have two very funny guys, comedians from the Sarcastic Squad Adam Guerino and his straight best friend Eric Lutz. Adam is gay, Eric is not.
Or so he says.
Maybe dragging Eric onto our show is a way for Adam to help his friend come out of the closet, or maybe, just maybe it’s just his way of bringing over some white hot man-candy.
Will Eric come out? Or will he stay in the closet? Whatever the outcome, we’re sure you’ll enjoy the show.
“I am proud to be a black woman and I’m proud to be gay… How can you stop people from loving each other? How can you get upset because of love? Gay is not a choice. That’s like telling me I chose to be a woman, I chose to be black. Are we saying that if being gay is a choice, then people are straight because they chose not to be gay?”
We are excited about the the fantastic turn out at gay rights rallies that took place across the country this past weekend. it shows that although we have a lot of hard work ahead of us, we are motivated for change.
The next rally in the Chicago area is on Saturday Nov. 22 at 5PM at 1715 Maple St. in Evanston, IL to protest Alan Stock, CEO of the Cinemark Company, who gave nearly $10,000 to Prop 8. We have to hold these people accountable for their bigotry and show the good people of America that we are here.
Where’s your next rally or protest? Please let us know!

What a turnout! Thousands of protesters flooded Chicago’s Federal Plaza on Saturday, November 15 (today) in opposition of Proposition 8 as part of an 300 city, 50 state movement against the California amendment that passed earlier this month.
Chicago police had to close down a lane of traffic to accommodate the huge crowds, which later turned into a march down Michigan Ave. through the heart of Chicago’s downtown shopping district, best known as the “Miracle Mile.”
Event spokesperson Andy Thayer said the protesters were “ecstatic to see so many of their peers standing up for equality. We are angry that our community has been vilified by those who hate us, but determined to fight on for equality.”

Going to a gay rights protest this weekend? We’ve got you covered. On today’s show we’re sharing our tips on making the most of your local gay rights protest and how to enjoy a fabulous and passionate fight for gay rights!
This may be some people’s first time at a protest so please dress for the weather, in Chicago that means lots of comfy layers and maybe some rain gear.
Avoid eye contact with police. Do what they say and don’t eyeball them. No one likes to be eyeballed, especially cops, so don’t eyeball them. This protest isn’t about eyeballing, it’s about gay rights.
Keep moving and don’t stay in one place on the sidewalk or they might get you for impeding traffic. Plus, if you are on the run, you are harder to get.
Your protest outfit wouldn’t be complete without a protest sign. Follow these simple rules I modified from Uknighted Manganime for the ultimate sign:
1 Make your slogan rhyme because it may just become the chant that everyone rallies around.
2 Use lots of exclamation marks to show that you are serious about your protest!!!!! Bonus- they also fill in all that pesky negative space!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3 YOU SHOULD WRITE IN ALL IN CAPITALS TO SHOW THAT YOU ARE VERY SERIOUS AND YOU MUST ‘SHOUT’ TO SHOW THAT YOU MEAN BUSINESS!!!
Hilary Clinton is singing “mama he’s making eyes at me.” Yesterday, the Obama administration eyed the President Elect’s former rival for the position of Secretary of State. She may be a great fit but is this just a ruse to get her out of the country?
The trans man Thomas Beatie is knocked up again. Was this a planned pregnancy?
Scientists take you deep inside the brain of a bully. Did you know that bullies actually enjoy seeing people in pain and misery. Duh!
Paula Goodspeed, who was mocked at the American Idol tryouts, committed suicide outside of judge Paula Abdul’s home. Ms. Goodspeed was disappointed about how bloggers treated her after her appearance on American Idol. She apparently died from a drug overdose.

Marc always is telling me that if someone wants to play Truth or Dare with you, chances are they want to get you naked for some hot lovin’.
Our pal Gerry here (pictured on the right) says he only likes group sex when he’s single, and loves monogamy when he’s in a relationship. It’s all or none. Jerry is an expert on getting two guys to go home from a bar with him.
But if bars aren’t your thing, how do you find two other hot guys to roll in the hay with? How do you keep people’s feelings from getting hurt? How do you make the most of the experience?
Carlos is holding a viewing party for “A Sealed Fate” a bold new documentary about the plight of baby seals at the Silver Room in Chicago on Wednesday December 3. The documentary follows Nigel Barker of “America’s Next Top Model” as he witnesses the hunt for the the baby seal pelts.

But will disgruntled Republican steal all the O’s from the computer keyboards before they leave like the Clinton staff did with the “W” when Bush came into office? You heard it here first folks.
Sometimes I feel like I’m opening up a Pandora’s box of discord by planting the idea out there, ripe for bitter Republicans to take a bite.
Now with 50% more knowledgability- Feast of Fools.

I’ll always have a HUGE place in my heart for the quirky beatboxing of the Fat Boys and Tigra ‘n Bunny D (better yet) L’Trimm. For folks like me, rap music became the urban sound of the early 1980s that symbolized a huge change in music and self-expression.
On today’s show we have two fabulous artists in the house, our Chicago based dirty gay rapper, Johhny Dangerous, and UK rapper Q-Boy.
We had a lot of fun doing a show with Johnny D last month and we’re glad he was able to bring over his pal QBoy over to the studio.
Among only a few openly gay rappers in hip-hop, they are the leading faces in a new wave of music known as “homo hop”.
QBoy is visiting New York and Chicago to shoot some music videos, including one for up and coming song with his local pal Johnny Dangerous. Wait until you see some of the outtakes of the video as they lube each other up. Hot!
Q-Boy has been spreading his truth-telling lyrics of accepting yourself and celebrating joy to audiences around the world. He charms you with his message of fun and getting funky.
When he’s not busy rapping and recording music, Q-Boy does a lot of outreach work in high schools in the U.K fighting homophobia and teaching teenagers to express themselves through rap music.
Listen as we talk about how to fight homophobia in high school, why foreskin is underrated, how gangsta rap took over during the 90s and the trans mayor in Oregon.
Yo! It’s Feast of Fools.
